Six String is Back
David Sardinha created the original cafe in 2001. In 2005, Sardinha closed it down, keeping the concept alive with occasional shows at places including Helios Coffee in Raleigh.
To re-open the Six String, Sardinha partnered with Ralph Pisacane and his family. Pisacane is an experienced restaurateur who owned several area McDonald’s including two at Crabtree Mall. Together, they navigated the necessary permits to get the Six String back in business. Pisacane mentioned the help he received in this process from Town Councilman Don Frantz.
Yes, Six String is in Cary. Their mailing address is Raleigh, but the Music Hall sits within the jurisdiction of our town.
ABOUT THE NEW SIX STRING
The facility looks fabulous – comfy booths, an open layout, good site lines and top notch construction. There’s a small guitar shop near the door where the prize shop used to be when it was Bullwinkles.
In addition to the large stage, the sound system is premier – big JBL monitors and a full mixing board. Bar bands are fun, but expect to see real musical shows at the Six String.
Full menu is available – from snack, wraps and desserts to full course meals including Stuffed Pork Tenderloin and Steak Apizziola.
Ralph told CaryCitizen that he expects to continue the Six String acoustic singer-songwriter tradition during the dinner hour. But he also anticipates presenting a wider variety of musical acts, both electrified and acoustic, and including many more genres of popular music. Who knows – maybe they’ll have Blues Night ;)
Whomever they book, it’s great news for Cary that the Six String is back. Check their website for upcoming shows .
