I'm still exhausted. Much of this has to do with joining the cast for revelry on Sunday, and then leaving while I was still drunk. M had a test for the city of Tacoma on Monday, and the energy of the party suggested that leaving was in our best interest. We did spend two hours looking for a Jack in the Box, and ended up finally at the one we knew in Tacoma, which wasn't opened (WTF?! When you need anti-hangover food you need it now!), and then hit up the one at home that we KNEW would be open. M was feeling very off when we returned home, and after a late night/early morning with nerves during the day, he had a seizure last night. Nothing too serious, as we'd already bedded down. It didn't get too out of hand. My favorite part was during his aphasia when he called my mom "Less 12 Atom" instead of Leslie. Talking both confuses and helps, so we'd like to get a kids picture book with lots of stuff in it, so he can point at it and tell me what it is--much less confusing than trying to explain how he feels. He kept telling me, as he spasticly twitched his arm and hand--the worst of the convulsions he had-- that his arm was falling off and floating away. Since we knew that with the lack of good sleep he was likely to have a seizure, I just bedded him down for a nap. Here's to catching up on sleep! I don't feel I'm quite ready to put into words just what I've learned this weekend. I think it mostly sums up to "I'm a fucking Goddess. Treat me that way or get out of the way!" The Mysteries, especially the Greaters, were more moving this year than ever. I think I found a distance from the script and events in the cast that is comfortable for me. While I greatly desire to do the work the Cast does with the godforms and ritual, the idea of getting up onstage anymore is unsettling and uncomfortable. Being the assistant festival executive ritual director (I think that's what assferd means...) allowed me to support the cast and staff more behind...
