CX500 Engine rebuild: Metal filings hidden in your engine parts :-o

Apologies for the rubbish quality of the vid, it was taken on my digi still cam with little memory! I just wanted to show the horrors lurking in ...

I have been lazy lately.

Unfortunately I haven’t been doing anything even remotely bad ass with any of my projects, maybe some day. It is hard to find motivation to work on stuff when it is so cold outside and one sees no sign of it getting warm ever again. The last few weeks have been quite pleasant actually, aside from some rain, so I am feeling much more motivated to get mopeds tuned and get some headway on piecing my broken old BSA back together.

What Laziness I have exhibited in the world of motors on two wheels, I have made up for in the world of bicycles. I have acquired quite a few in recent weeks, getting ready to clean up and sell so I can put some cash towards another bike that I am trying to get rolling fast. The project is an old, bright yellow, Peugeot UO-18 mixte that I am building for my girlfriend. I don’t have any pictured of it, I will once I get a little more progress on it. The French used a lot of non typical thread size/depth, and even things like seat post, and head tube diameter is different. This makes things only a little more expensive to buy, or just some good improvising… if I come across something I can just slap an American thread bottom bracket into and not worry about filing down a different stem to fit then I will probably go for it, but right now it is fun learning new stuff.

It is the last couple of days in my spring break. I was back home for a few days and hung out with my dad which is always fun. My mom is on a cruise boat somewhere in the Caribbean with my sister and my Aunt, accompanying my grandmother on a cruise we all gave her for turning 87. She earned it. Dad and I didn’t waste too much time and got quite a bit done down there. He sold his 1980 Honda CB750C yesterday, and I think he is selling an 1982 Honda GL500 (Silverwing) parts bike today too, so my mom should be glad of that when she gets home!

Anyway, I think it is time for me to get on with my day and get some stuff done… Monday is coming fast and I have plenty of homework to catch up on that I neglected to do over the rest of break. Seriously, papers should not be assigned right before a break with a rough draft due the day after you get back… lame. Breaks are for relaxing and I wasn’t about to let school get in the way of that.
