Deconstructing Lawn Mower Harry

Before I begin, let me admit one of my many faults.
I live in this dream world where I think if that person can do it, well then so can I.В Sure, it’s mostly been trivial things like preparing my own tax return, baking edible cupcakes, fixing a wonky garbage disposal by shoving the broom handle against some something down in there to make it go.В (i do not pretend to know the proper names for anything…i just know how to make “them” work)

Herein begins my Misadventures in Lawn Mower Repair and where you begin sipping madly on that aforementioned drink.
So, last fall during my last mow of the season, Lawn Mower Harry (i hadn’t named the lawn mower until coming up with a post title…poor, impotent Harry, unable to mow grass) crapped out halfway through the hay field that had become my backyard.В He would mow a bit, then ::cough cough:: peter out on me.В This happened a few times until Harry simply refused to even speak to me.В I would prime him ::push push push his red primer bulb::, he would die out.В (i really should not have personified the lawn mower, eh?)В With the front yard already mowed, I gave up, parked Harry in the shed, and refused to think about him until recently when the grass began tickling my knees.
This is where anyone with a fetish for proper lawn mower maintenance goes, “You didn’t even winterize your lawn mower???В For shame, for shame.”В No, I did not winterize impotent Harry.В I left him stored with a half tank of gas, uncaring whether the gas made his insides all gunky and gloopy.В He had failed to satisfy my lawn mowing needs; I just wanted to pretend he didn’t exist for a while.
